Definition of a Soulmate

What is a soulmate? Are all your soulmates similar? Do you travel through reincarnations alone? What is a Twin Flame or twin soul mate?

In answer to these questions, you first need to know that there are different kinds of soulmates with whom you may have shared many past lives. Others may be souls you've met once or twice before but still have to complete karma with them. In addition, there are groups of souls with whom you've spent many past lives and, of course, your true love soulmate, or Twin Flame.

Here are brief descriptions of each to help you answer the question, What is a Soulmate?

• A soul mate, in its most simple definition, is another soul with whom you have a history of shared past lives. Often, there is instant recognition of a soul mate, be it an immediate attraction or even repulsion, both of which can be leftover feelings from your most recent life together.


• The soulmate relationships you've shared with each soul mate can change in each reincarnation. The form your connections take depends on the unfinished business you have with each other.

  Therefore, the answer to "What is a soulmate?" changes with each lifetime you spend together. In one you and another soul can be sister and brother; in another, parent and child; or best friends, or mortal enemies. The purpose of each lifetime connection with another soulmate is to work out your spiritual purpose(s), learn your lessons, let go, and move on.




• Your soulmate group consists of a number of souls that have experienced past lives together, and will most likely go through some future lives together, as well. Again, genders, roles, and purpose shift and change in each reincarnation.


• There's usually some karma to work through with most of the people in your soulmate group. However, there is that special karmic soul mate (one or more) in each life that provides the greatest opportunity for your personal growth.

  At times, they may show up as your teacher. At other times, they may seem to be your Twin Flame - the connection is so strong. But the spiritual struggles soon show up, and you are challenged to learn more and grow, completing the bad karma from past lives that they bring along or trigger.



• Your near twin is another type of soul mate that can be incredibly wonderful, or extremely challenging. Since you don't usually meet your Twin Flame - certainly not in every reincarnation - the near twin can be a good substitute. They're often a person you connect with naturally on a deep level. You support each other, understand each other, grow together. Or you are so close that you repel each other for no easily visible reason.

• Your Twin Flame or twin soul mate is that one person you may or may not have shared past lives with who "completes" you. Yet, to share a life with your Twin Flame, you need to already be whole, or close to it. The closer you are to your own clarity and cleared spirituality, the more likely you are to meet and have a relationship with them.
