Chakra Colors
While most folks agree that there are seven chakras and, therefore, seven chakra colors, there is far less consent as to what those particular colors are. Usually they follow the flow of the naturally occurring rainbow and color wheel. But whether "blue" is cobalt or turquoise -- well, I'm going to leave that up to your own system or intuition.
A chakra is an energy center that is located in a particular area of the human body and based on the Eastern philosophies of body-mind-spirit connection.
If you have a tickle in your throat that won't go away, healing is not only about the tickle and the throat - it's also about your thoughts and spiritual growth associated with the throat or communication. This chart lists the most common chakra colors. If you come from a culture or spiritual tradition, or study with a teacher that uses different colors, pay attention to them and ignore this chart. Each chakra relates to a state of mind, a range of actions, and a level of enlightenment. The color associated with each not only helps to express that level but also helps to intensify it.
Chakra | Color | Crown | Violet | Third Eye | Indigo | Throat | Blue | Heart | Green | Solar Plexus | Yellow | Sacral | Orange | Base | Red |
For instance, if you're working on communicating better with your friends and family, you'd focus on your throat chakra. In this case you'd want to wear a scarf or turtleneck shirt, or a choker-style necklace that's blue to encourage more active energy in that area. On the other hand, if you talk too much, you might want to keep blue far away from your throat area! Enlightenment and spiritual growth tend to work from the base, or bottom, chakras up toward the crown, or head. However, even the "low" chakras have positive energy when clear and balanced -- and you can't reach the state of Oneness and Enlightenment if the areas "below" that support it are murky or chaotic.
