Hypnotism Didn't Hurt
by Katy S.
I always thought hypnotism was just the way you described it: quacking like a duck in front of a room full of people. I didn't want to do it, ever. Kind of a control freak here, giving up my ability to choose my own actions sounded like something I'd never, ever do.
But then I did a bit of reading about it, and like you said, it isn't that scary. I was aware of the room around me all the time, and even though I didn't go into a deep trance, I woke up more relaxed and refreshed than I'd been in many months.
The person who hypnotized me was certified in it and was a licensed psychotherapist. I spent a few sessions in regular therapy first and then when I trusted him, I agreed to a hypnotism session. We had to try it three times before I relaxed enough to get anything at all out of it.
It let me deal with some memories in a more accepting way. Thinking about things in a relaxed state kept me from freezing up. The hypnotism really helped.
Now I want to try it again. Maybe even go for a past life session because I think some of my emotional baggage may be from before this lifetime.
